Summer is coming to an end, but construction on local roads is still going strong.
Residents in the Minot area should be aware of street chip sealing work that began today.
The work will affect residential and major roads by John Hoven Elementary and Erik Ramstad Middle School.
Signs in residential areas have already gone up asking you not to park while the work is being done.
Access to driveways may be restricted for close to an hour in some areas.
“What that does is it seals the surface of the pavement and it gives it a good driving surface to the traffic and then it helps protect that pavement –makes it last longer versus if you never did any maintenance on it again,” said city engineer of Minot Lance Meyer.
Residents should be cautious around the fresh oil and loose rocks from the work.
