Middle school students in Minot are hoping to help out their school – and spread some bright colors on lots of people at the same time.

The student council at Jim Hill Middle School is planning a color run for early May.
The 6th through 8th graders were meeting this week to go over some of the details of putting the event together.

(Nikki VanPelt, Student Council Advisor) “We do need you guys there. We need everybody’s hand in the pot on this just because it’s going to be a huge deal.”
(Darci Humphries, Student Council Advisor) “We want everybody to come out and have a really good time together…get messy!”
(Sophia Hankla, Student Council Member) “When you’re walking there’s going to be paint thrown on you because it’s a color run. There’s going to be different booths, face paint.”
(Cali Wilson, Student Council Member) “We’re going to try and raise money for some equipment for the school to make our school better. Last year we got new water fountains.”

The 5-K Color Fun Run will be May 6th at Oak Park in Minot.

Registration fees are $20 for age 6-14, $30 for 15+ before April 22, five dollars more after that date.
