The unseasonably warm temperatures are bound to brighten almost anyone’s day.
Especially kids at recess who can finally run around and enjoy it.
(Anaya) “It’s hot out.”
In the middle of February, it only makes sense to suit up for recess.
But 50 degree temperatures just might change that.
(Astraea) “It’s very nice out and in the winter, the seasons kind of better.
And the numbers are getting very hot so you might want to take your coat off.”
It may not be warm enough to rid of the snow just yet, but kindergartners at Washington Elementary are okay with that.
(Bentley) “It’s snowy, it’s hot, it’s warm.”
“What do you like to do at recess when it’s warm out like today?” (Astraea) “Roll down the hills!”
(Anaya) “Go on the slides and do monkey bars.”
“Do you hope that it’s warm out like this everyday? (Anaya) “Mmhm!”
If only the Spring weather could stick around,
(Bentley) “I like it cause the trees are green, it’s starting to warm up a little bit.”
Then so will the smiles of many school kids.
(Amanda Rathbun/Playground Supervisor) “They get excited they get a lot of energy that they can’t run off because they’re inside sitting in the classroom.
And they can run, and scream, and holler and play. And have fun!”
