Every year, public libraries around the country hold a summer reading program.
This year the theme is ‘Build a Better World.
Earlier this year, the Minot Public Library held a community engagement campaign called ‘Build Minot.’
The campaign invited people to write on blocks what they wanted to see in the community.
The library combined the campaign with the summer reading program to drive home the idea of building a better world.
“A lot of STEM learning happens with just hands on building. So we have, for children, we have some cup building -so they’re working with cups as well as pencils and some Legos.” said Janet Anderson, Minot Public Library Director.
The summer reading program is open to kids, teens, and even adults.
