Sunday’s Weather 10/30

The latest Forecast from the KX News Dakota Storm Center.

The high pressure system from yesterday is now moving out of the area. The low pressure system will slowly be moving into the area in the overnight hours. Around 8 am Monday, the center of the low will be in the southwest part of North Dakota. Winds are expected to be very gusty as pressure gradients will be tightly compacted in the area. Gusts at times have the potential to reach 60 mph. The farther north you go, the less windy it will likely be, although still gusty. Rain showers are also in the area for Halloween, especially in the northern areas. Temperatures will vary across the state for tomorrow with the Mobridge area near 70 degrees and then Minot is expected to be near 50. The low will move to the northeast and out of the area by Monday night. The remainder of the week will see well above average highs, staying mostly on either side of 60 degrees with lows in the upper 80s. When coming to rain percentages across the area, there is not a lot of foreseen rain in the forecast as skies will be mostly clear to sunny, included next weekend.

Tonight, lows on either side of 40 degrees with some rain showers very late in the morning and mainly in the northern areas. Winds continue to be breezy from the south/ southeast at 5-15 mph and gusts to 20 mph.

Halloween, increased chances of rain showers, mainly in the north, but some showers in the south also expected. Winds from the southeast then shifting west at 20-30 mph and gusting to 45 mph. Stronger winds are expected in the southern parts of the state. Highs in the 50s.

Monday night, temperatures around 40 degrees with partly cloudy skies, but clearing throughout the night with a west wind at 5-15 mph, much calmer than during the day.
Tuesday, highs around 60 degrees with sunny skies across the area. Winds from the west at 5-15 mph.
Tuesday night, few clouds overnight with a west wind at 2-10 mph and temperatures in the upper 30s.
