North Dakota ranks in the top 10 states when it comes to financial literacy among its residents.
A data survey by personal financial website WalletHub puts North Dakota 9th in the nation based on categories such as percentage of adults with a “rainy day” fund, most sustainable spending habits, how many pay only the minimum on credit cards and other factors.
Minnesota came in at number 5, while Montana was 24 and South Dakota is ranked at 43.
The nation’s most financially literate state: Virginia.
The state coming in last: Louisiana.
