Suspect Arrested for Bismarck Bank Robbery

Bismarck police have arrested a man in connection with an afternoon bank robbery.
Around 2:30 p.m. police were called to Bremer Bank on south Washington Street.
Police were told 51-year-old Rondal Heitsch did not display a weapon during the robbery.
The suspect was described as a white male in his 50’s who fled on foot toward a local softball complex.
19 officers responded to the scene.
The man was located under the Expressway Bridge shortly before 3 p.m.
No one was injured in the robber and no other information has been released.
We know more information.
Doing some further investigation our newsroom did find out more about the suspect.
This is not his first run in with police.
In 91, 51-year-old Heitsch, attempted to escape from jail or prison twice and in 1992 succeeded.
Heitsch has a slew of other offenses including forgery, theft and felony possession of a firearm.  
Today, he was nabbed on robbery charges plus possession of methamphetamine.
Police have not yet released any further information about how much money was stolen.
