29-year-old James Milton Blue II of Minot was arrested yesterday in an incident where shots were fired in a Minot trailer park.
According to a release from the Minot Police Department Wednesday, January 17 at about 1:53 p.m. officers responded to a domestic related incident at Northland Trailer Park.
When officers responded they saw a man outside a residence who was firing shots from a handgun at an unknown target and waving the handgun in the direction of the officers.
One round was fired by an officer on scene, but it did not hit the suspect.
At one point, Blue entered a tailer and exited a short time later swinging what appeared to be a scraper to remove ice from sidewalks according to Police. He moved close to an officer armed with a taser, which was then used on Blue.
The suspect was taken into custody around 2:57 p.m. after a long struggle with officers and medical personnel. A witness says Blue injured two EMTs – breaking one’s arm and causing a separated shoulder on the other.
Blue was then transported to Trinity Hospital where he was being treated for cuts, which police say were likely caused by windows he broke out of a trailer and vehicle during the incident.
Police expect Blue to be charged with the 7 counts of reckless endangerment, four counts of contact by bodily fluids, two counts of simple assault, one count of terrorizing and one count of a felony in possession of a firearm.
