Earlier today we made a poll on Facebook asking you if you take breaks during a daily work shift.
Out of nearly 500 votes — 64% of you said — “Yes, I usually do.”
Now, experts say taking a 15 minute walk or getting away from the desk is beneficial.
By taking at least one break in the morning and one in the afternoon it gives your mind and body time to refresh.
Karen Selensky, Workplace Manager at NDSC, says, “I think it helps stimulate things. You come back with better ideas when you’ve taken a break. I think just to get away from that whole work atmosphere and personal relationships and you come back and you can be re-energized.”
The North Dakota Safety Council has specific breaks to wash windows.
It is used as a team bonding exercise.
