In the weeks leading up to the start of school, teachers of all grades encourage parents to put a little extra emphasis on one topic –
Bullying.

Since bullying can affect students of all ages, local schools say parents should sit down with their students before school starts and talk to them about how serious it is.
Nadine Butts, assistant principal for Legacy High, says they see cyber bullying, as well as students bullying kids who are different than them…
She has a message for parents.
“You guys are the primary influence – we all are – in our kids’ lives. And the more involved you are, and the more you can model good behavior, and support your child, but also support the goodness that the school wants to do for all kids… The more successful we will all be in raising a generation of kids that is positive,” says Nadine Butts, Asst. Principal, Legacy High School.
