Some interesting trends in America during the Thanksgiving holiday period based on information from Google Trends…
Different types of stores generate different peak visit times during Thanksgiving week (Wednesday through Friday).
For example, based on Google data, most Americans visited the bakery today around the noon hour, presumably to pick up fresh baked items before the holiday.
Grocery stores and liquor stores will hit their peak traffic around 5 pm today, as folks stock up for the long weekend ahead.
Shopping centers are hit hard today and Black Friday.
And movie theaters have a spike in traffic on Friday afternoon, as people, probably tired out from the stress of early Black Friday shopping, take a break to catch up on the latest Hollywood blockbusters that evening.
During the Thanksgiving holiday, people do a lot of searching for places to visit and shop. Google compiled a list of places people try to find in each state — unique places state residents search for more than the rest of the nation.
For example, people in Montana search for a brewery more often this time of year than people in the rest of the country.
What do North Dakotans search for more over the Thanksgiving holiday than the rest of America?
Home improvement stores.
And we’re not alone in that search.
Iowans and Nebraskans also search for home improvement stores more this time of year than the rest.
