It is National Hospital Week and one hospital is celebrating by teaching elementary students all about the medical field.

More than 300 third graders were introduced to various disciplines involved in diagnosing, treating and preventing disease at Trinity Health

They even got the chance to be the doctors when they got to operate, give CPR, and examine X-rays.

Here’s what they said they learned.

“How to give CPR, how the heart works and what your blood looks like under a microscope,” said participant Joseph Neal.

Maliha Ortiz/Participant) “Took out some vegetables and cut some pasta and when we were done we we had to put the vegetables back in which was pretty weird,” said participant Maliha Ortiz.

The goal of the of the event is to give the children a better idea of what to expect should they ever need medical treatment.
