Early voting polls opened up Monday morning and closed at six o’clock Thursday.
The Ward County Auditor says they’re ahead of the average numbers by quite a bit.
As of this afternoon there had been over 3,500 voters.
The 2012 Presidential election brought in 4,200 early voters – but at that time there was five days of voting rather than the four days we have this year.
Devra Smestad/Ward County Auditor/Treasurer: “There’s a lot of interest in this and that shows in our absentees as well. I think in the past we’ve probably seen maybe five to six boxes, we’re pushing over 10 right now and we still have several days for them to come in, so.”
Last chance for absentee ballots is Monday, the day before election day.
Smestad said she anticipates beating those 2012 numbers.
