Throwback Thursday: Love Story for the Ages

It’s Throwback Thursday, so here’s one of my favorite love stories from a few years back.

“You say there’s somebody for everybody and she was there all along, didn’t know where she was for 30 years.” says Steve Stelton.

Beth and Steve have known each other, at least from a distance, for more than three decades.

“We went to the reunion together and we were all the buzz of the reunion and that’s how it started.” says Steve.

“They always say when you find the right one you know it, and I knew it, right from the start, almost from the first day I met her in the mall in Fargo, I go she’s pretty cool, she’s got a sense of humor and a nice smile and we just hit it off.” says Steve.

“You just got to go through a lot of frogs to get your prince.” says Beth.

Her prince wanted a “king” to help show his love.

“It was funny because he said, I’ll never get married unless it’s by Elvis, that’s what we did.” says Beth.

“We went the three song Elvis wedding, I didn’t want to be a cheap guy!” laughs Steve.

“It was fun, we’re not 22 years old, we’re not like 5 attendants, it was simple and fun.” explains the couple.

A tender love found, at just the right time.

“We probably missed out on a lot of things like having children and whatnot, there’s more to life than that, certainly we’re both very happy, we have a great life together, one thing I know for sure.” says Steve.

“I’m sure we’ll be a big hit at the 40th year reunion! If we make it!”

Beth says their 40th class reunion is in two years and they plan to be there.

They have been married for almost six years now.

Beth says she loves how they go on vacation every year for their anniversary, how they spend time together and how Steve sings to her every day.
