From the KX Storm Center:
Today it has been mostly sunny to partly cloudy and temps are well above average for this time of the year. More sunshine and warming will continue through the next couple of days. Temps will be in the 70s & 80s through Friday & Saturday. This quiet, dry & warm weather pattern will come to an end this weekend. Saturday night & Sunday (Mother’s Day), rain chances will pick up with scattered showers & thunderstorms moving across the state. This will be the beginning of an active weather pattern.
A low pressure system that is currently over the Pacific Ocean will move over the Pacific NW during the next couple of days, cross the Rocky Mountains (this weekend) and redevelop over the Northern Plains. Daily rain chances are expected through the beginning of the work week. At this point severe weather is not expected, but it is not out of the question either. We will monitor the forecast and let everyone know if the risk for severe weather comes up. Also, winds will become breezy Saturday. They will calm down at times, but stronger winds may continue through the beginning of the work week.

Tonight, mostly clear with in & out clouds and a little cool. A few isolated showers will fizzle out. Lows in the 40s with a few 50s (West) and a SE/South wind 2-10mph.

Friday, another round of sunshine with a few clouds and continued warming temps. Highs in the 70s & 80s with an East/SE wind 5-15mph G20.

Friday night, mostly clear and not as cool. Lows in the 40s & 50s with an East wind 5-15mph G20.

Saturday will be mostly sunny with winds becoming breezy. Highs in the 70s & 80s with a SE wind 10-20mph G30.

Saturday night, partly to mostly cloudy with rain chances returning. Lows in the 40s & 50s with a SE wind 10-20mph. 60% chance of rain.
