Today at the Capitol — we’re getting a second look at several bills.
Transportation committees will consider fees on hybrid and electric vehicles, and another bill to raise the fees on drivers licenses.
They’ll also talk about renaming highway 22 to Veterans Memorial Highway
Another bill gathering a lot of support is SB 2033.
That allows Legislative Council to help non-lawmakers draft initiated measures.
This has a lot to do with the citizen-led medical marijuana initiative.
Lawmakers say one of the reasons its taken so long to get the program underway is due to how the bill was written.
They contend it did not match the state constitution.
However, they hope with the help of Legislative Council that this will no longer be a problem.
Finally, the Senate will vote to allow people under 21 into a bar if they’re joined by a parent or guardian.
If it passes, it will become law after the Governor signs it.
