Committee hearings will once again dominate the day at the North Dakota Capitol Building.
Here’s a bill parents will want to know about: Senate Bill 2052. A hearing is scheduled for 2:00 PM. It would require each school district to create a school safety plan. It also gives districts the authority to use a portion of property tax collections to pay for any needed safety upgrades.
The Senate Human Services Committee will hold a hearing at 9:30 AM on SB 2032, which asks for $275,000 to create a peer support specialist program.
SB 2057, meanwhile, asks for $250,000 get more forensic nurse examiners in the state through a grant program. That hearing is also scheduled for 9:30 AM.
And at 9:50 AM, the House Judiciary Committee will hear HB 1050, which would create an avenue for prisoners found with drugs or drug paraphernalia to go to a drug and addiction treatment center.
