The North Dakota Heritage Museum is showcasing a new exhibit by an award-winning Fargo-based artist who utilizes local clays to create his work.
Brad Bachmeir focuses his art on the history and the ecology of national parks throughout the southwest.
The name of the exhibit is Ancient Earth Ceramic Endeavors.
Bachmeir uses local clay to remake pottery used by Native Americans centuries ago.
His goal is to start a conservation about the land around us and how it has shaped who we are today.
North Dakota Heritage Museum Exhibition Manager David Newell says “the focus of the exhibition really is the artist’s study of humans to clay through history and how clay has been utilized. From the earliest days of just making cooking pots up to contemporary technologies… so it’s been an integrated element in mankind.”
The exhibit will be presented until December 31st, 2021 so make sure you check it out! If you’d like to learn more about the artist and his work, click here.
