(KXNET) — Reports of power outages are coming in from various areas of the state, presumably due to the winter storm enveloping North Dakota.

As of 3:00 p.m., Thursday, roughly 900 people are without power, based on reports on various utility outage maps and the PowerOutage.us website.

Williams/Mountrail counties: Mountrail-Williams Electric Cooperative reports about 438 customers are without power northeast of Williston around the Ray, Tioga and Wildrose areas. Another 169 customers are without power in the Stanley and New Town areas of Mountrail County. According to the company’s website, service is expected to be restored by later Thursday evening.

“We are seeing outages caused by frost and ice on the lines along with high winds in the Tioga area,” the cooperative notes on its website. “Members are likely to see continued power blinks and outages as high winds continue. Our crews will continue restoration efforts as long as weather conditions allow.”

Emmons County: Montana-Dakota Utilities reports on its outage map that about 180 people are without power, mostly in Hazelton and a few in Linton. No word yet on when power will be restored. in the Linton and Hazelton areas.

Earlier Thursday morning, Capitol Electric Coop reported on its website that power was out in three areas of Sheridan County, affecting 284 customers. The reports came in between 5:00 a.m. and 6:10 a.m., Thursday morning. The company noted on its Facebook page, “We are experiencing outages in the McClusky and Goodrich areas due to power supply issues on the Otter Tail transmission lines that feed those substations.” By Thursday afternoon, power had been restored to all but 6 customers.

Other power outages were reported Thursday in Hettinger and Rolette counties. By Thursday afternoon, nearly all the issues in those counties had also been resolved.
