Good Tuesday morning! Temperatures have been dropping slowly as cold air funnels in behind the departing low. Highs have already been achieved and have been mostly in the single digits. Throughout the day, expect temperatures to drop to just below zero around 5pm. Wind stays brisk out of the northwest through at least the afternoon. This will create blowing and drifting snow problems. A decrease in clouds will make way for a mostly sunny afternoon.
Tonight, a chance for light snow mostly south of I-94. Very little accumulation of around 1″ to 2″. Lows will cool to around 10 and 15 below. For Wednesday, most highs will stay just below zero with frigid temperatures continuing into the second half of the work week. Thursday’s highs will only warm to around 5 and 15 below with overnight lows to 15 and 25 below. Wind chills will be a huge factor as they drop to 40 and even 50 below. Frostbite can begin in as little as 10 minutes with exposed skin. A nice warm up is on the way for the weekend with many teens and 20s for highs.
