Two Children Killed in Construction Zone Crash

Two children were killed when the car they were riding in was hit by a second vehicle while stopped at a road construction site near Crosby yesterday.

The Highway Patrol reports girls age two and eight died in the crash.

The Patrol reports the car they were in was stopped along Highway 5 when a pickup dri ven by 49-year-old William Koehler of Florida crashed into it from behind, sending both vehicles into the ditch.

The 31-year-old man driving the car and a 4-year-old boy also in the car were seriously hurt and flown to Trinity Hospital in Minot.

A flagger and the driver of the pickup received minor injuries.

The accident happened just before 6:30am Tuesday about three miles east of Crosby.
