Two people were killed in a head-on crash in northeast Minot Tuesday evening.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, a 26-year-old Bismarck man was heading west on 46th avenue northeast.

He attempted to pass another vehicle and crashed head-on into another truck driven by a 61-year-old Surrey man.

The Surrey man died on scene, according to officials, and the Bismarck man was taken to a local hospital where he later died.

Road conditions at the time were wet and it was foggy and drizzly, but family members say weather was not a contributing factor to the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
