The United States is now the top oil producer in the world.
According to the US Energy Information Administration, the U.S. passed Saudi Arabia for the first time in 20 years.
The nation also passed Russia for the first time since 1999.
Ron Ness with the North Dakota Petroleum Council says this is something they’ve been anticipating for a few months.
He adds that thanks to constantly improving resources and technology, we expect to set another all-time production record this month in North Dakota.
