Bullying can happen anywhere-in person, online, or via text message.
But there are efforts to put a stop to it.
Summit Counseling Services, based in Williston, is hosting an event this weekend in Watford City. The Unbullied event will take place at the Rough Rider Center. The public is invited to attend and learn more about issues related to bullying.
Miss North Dakota will be present to share a message and the event will run similar to a carnival with snacks and booths.
“We thought it would be best to introduce this way. That we can bring in some education very subtlely, but very effectively. Because I think when you mix fun with education, you get somebody’s attention,” says Brenda Owen, director at Summit Counseling Services.
The event will be held at the Rough Rider Center in Watford City from noon to 4 p.m.
Volunteers are welcome to assist. If you’re interested in more information, please contact Summit Counseling Services as 701-334-6242
