UND train accident victim is from Bismarck

The UND student severely injured by a train in Grand Forks Sunday is originally from Bismarck. 

21-year-old Jacob Huber, a 2015 St. Mary’s High School graduate, is in Altru Hospital in Grand Forks following the accident. 

According to authorities, Grand Forks police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Dyke Avenue around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, for a report of an injured man requesting help. 

Police determined Huber had climbed onto a moving train downtown and attempted to jump off near Dyke Avenue but was run over by the train, according to a news release.

Police say he suffered “severe injuries to his limbs” and that his condition is unclear.
