Octavia Wakefield has been charged with attempted murder, possession of drug paraphernalia, and ingesting a controlled substance.

A 26-year-old Bismarck woman has been arrested for attempted murder after allegedly stabbing a man 7 times in the back early Saturday morning.

At 6:14 a.m., Bismarck Police responded to the 2900 block of Iowa Street for a report of a stabbing. The victim, a 49-year-old Bismarck man, described to officers that he woke up to the feeling of being hit in the back. He says the suspect was screaming at him. The victim then ran outside and realized he had been stabbed. The two people are considered friends. Bismarck P.D. describes the incident as unprovoked.

The Bismarck man was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Officers found a pocket knife inside the residence and upon searching the suspect, also found syringes. She admitted to using meth the day prior.

The suspect was arrested for attempted murder and possession of drug paraphernalia.
