9:30 p.m. UPDATE:

The Mandan Police Department says they have found the animal they believe is responsible for causing serious leg injuries to an 8-year-old girl and 43-year-old woman.

They say the animal has been located and taken into custody.

We are told a judge will decide the fate of the dog, but that won’t be any time soon.

There have been no charges filed against the owners of the dog.

Mandan Police are looking for a pit bull who attacked two people Sunday evening.
The male pit bull has a brindle coat with a docked tail and a blue collar.
Police say last night around 7:15 pm officers were dispatched to 2nd St. NW and 10th Ave NW for the report of a dog attack.
Two dogs attacked an adult and a child.
The two victims were walking in the area when the two pit bulls got loose from their yard.
Witnesses and the owner were able to intervene and stop the attack.
One of the dogs was taken into custody, and the other is still on the loose.
The two victims were taken to a Bismarck hospital with significant leg and feet injuries, they do not appear to be life threatening.
Call 701-667-3250 if you see the male pit bull. Police ask that you do not approach it.
