Today New Jersey Senator Cory Booker checked his 50th state off the list. He came to Mandan this morning to rally for Senator Heidi Heitkamp.
The pair were greeted by a jam-packed room of supporters at the Plumbers and Steam-Fitters Union in Mandan.
Senator Booker called Heitkamp a bridge-builder. His message today was one of unity, stressing the importance of voting in leaders who are willing to work across the aisle.
The New Jersey Senator adds, “I’m worried that we continue to elect people further and further on the margins, and we forget all those Americans who need us to come together and unify for common purpose. Because we have a lot of common pain, but somehow we’ve lost our sense of common purpose.”
Senator Heitkamp compares the current state of politics to a dumbbell, with stark Republicans and Democrats on either end.
