“A lot of people have never heard of this so it’s nice to get it out there and have vets be able to have a source like this,” said Veteran Darrell Sauvageau.

The mobile vet center makes appearances all over the region.

“We are out and about all over,” said Gutierrez.

Out showing vets that they care.

“It can be as minor as just someone coming in and wanting some coffee at the vet center or just reading the paper or they can be in crisis, so it depends on what the veteran is going through at that time,” said Gutierrez.

Once inside the center, veterans meet with on site counselors and simply talk.

“I think it’s about time, there should be something like this here for a lot of the combat vets,” said Sauvageau.

The mobile vet center isn’t the only resource veterans have, there are many in town services they can seek.

“I think it’s good for us to be out there letting the community know that we are out there to help, there’s another avenue for veterans,” said Gutierrez.
