Victim ID Released In Deadly Crash Near New Town

The Highway Patrol has released the identity of a man killed when his pickup crashed along a highway near New Town Tuesday.

Killed was 23-year-old Darren Cooley of Kooskia, Idaho.

The Patrol reports Cooley lost control of his truck as he tried to navigate a turn into a valley on Highway 1804 north of New Town.

His truck flew off the highway, landing in the ditch and overturning.

Cooley was thrown from the truck and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash was discovered about sunrise Tuesday but is believed to have happened overnight.
