If you’re following the ongoing volcanic eruptions in Hawaii, you might be interested in a multimedia Web site set up to track the event in video, photos and realtime webcams.

The U.S. Geological Survey is operating several survey cameras at all points in Hawaii where volcanic activity is reported.

You get up close views digitally that you otherwise could never see in person.

USGS videos also document the beauty and destructive fury of eruptions at night and slow, relentless lava flows during the day.

To access the images and videos, go here. You’ll find a wealth of images and information to view and download.

The USGS notes all photos and videos posted to the page are the public domain, meaning you can freely download and share the material.
