The performance Audit Manager who’s job was singled out during this legislative session has now resigned.

Jason Wahl took a 3 months severance package worth about 31-thousand dollars.

State Auditor Josh Gallion said he decided he did not want to come back to work after his job position was put on the chopping block by state lawmakers.

When the state auditors budget was passed this year, Wahl’s position was not funded.

The governor vetoed that bill and Wahl’s position was put back in place.

However, Gallion said he didn’t want to come back….and his position could go un-filled.

Gallion said his department had to make staffing cuts, but given Wahl’s resignation, cuts might not have to be made anymore.
