Three candidates plan to run in this years election for Ward County Sheriff.
Bob Barnard  the current sheriff, Michael McCloud a retired patrol sergeant with the North Dakota Highway patrol, and Robert Roed a current captain with the sheriff’s department.

The candidates held an open forum allowing the public to ask questions.
A hot topic was on how they planned to combat drugs in the community.
We spoke to people who attended.

“Being younger sometimes we might not appreciate our voting capabilities so I was thinking that learning about the people that are running right now is a good for my education and my involvement in the community -and so I don’t make a poor voting decision,” said attendee Jalisa Andreasen.

Primary elections in June will narrow it down to two candidates.
The new sheriff will be chosen in November.
