Ward County sobriety checkpoint results

Members or North Dakota Highway Patrol and the Ward County Sheriff’s Department conducted a sobriety checkpoint this Saturday, September 16th.

According to Highway Patrol, a total of 247 vehicles entered the checkpoint with 8 drivers being evaluated for impairment and one driver being arrested for a DUI charge. 

The checkpoint lasted from 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on US 83 near mile marker 205 in Ward County. 

Highway Patrol states for drivers not being evaluated for impairment, the estimated time for each stopped vehicle at the checkpoint was 10 to 12 seconds.
