At noon, there was a water main break in Minot.
The break happened on 5th Street Southwest, which is just off of 11th Avenue near Jim Hill Middle School.
City of Minot Public Works says that in the winter time water comes up where it is least resistant.

That means that crews have to dig deep because many times where the water is sprouting, that isn’t where the leak is originating from.

This water break could affect anywhere from two to eight homes.

Public Works says that it takes about four to six hours to fix a water main break.
