The community came out to enjoy great cars for a good cause with the “We Support the Badge Car Show.”
The show featuring new and classic cars invited local first responders to enjoy the cars while the community showed up to say thanks
Cars were lined up with engines revving but this show wasn’t all about the cars.
“We want them to know as a community that we love them and we couldn’t do this without them,” Rick Knodel, event organizer says.
They received an open invitation to enjoy the rides and show off their own.
“We’re happy to support law enforcement, the sheriff’s department, everybody that’s out here, today,” Duane Ell, Bismarck Fire Department says.
The Burleigh County Sheriff’s Department along with Bismarck Fire were some of the local first responders with vehicles on display.
“Everybody’s shaking our hands and thanking us for our support,” Gary Schaffer, Burleigh County Sheriff’s Department says.
Organizers say the event gave them the opportunity to combine their love of cars with saying thanks to those in uniform.
“Cause we all are enthusiasts and many of the police officers and law enforcement are also, so, we just thought this was a good way to do do something in the community,” Knodel says.
“They’re an integral part of the community and they support us and protect us,” Stan Vitez, car show participant says.
Car lovers came from across the state to admire more than 300 makes and models all for a good cause.
“It’s what it’s all about to come out and say thank you to them,” Vitez says.
And, those in uniform spent the day with people who stand behind them.
“Bismarck does a very good job supporting their first responders whether it’s law enforcement or fire,” Schaffer says.
While local car enthusiasts admired some pretty cool rides.
The show included hundreds of cars and motorcycles on display as well as local vendors and a silent auction with all proceeds going to local first responders.
