WEB EXTRA: New dining event comes with a great view

Dining is fun when you know where your food comes from.

Farmland to Fine Dining is an event taking place in August in a farm field nestled next to the bluffs of Huff Hills. You can enjoy a meal prepared by a professional chef with all local ingredients.

You can visit with local Ag producers and catch a glimpse of where your food comes from.

We spoke to Angil Wanner-Koper and Dave Lehman about why they created this event.

Both of them are involved with Leadership Bismarck/Mandan, a committee that works to develop local leaders who actively participate in and support community progress. This is one of the three projects they are working on this year.

Its a farm to fork type of event bringing the agricultural community together with the urban community focusing on where your food comes from.

There are many food trends like gluten-free and organic food, so it’s a way to give information regarding these topics.

They said there are only about 100 tickets and their website will launch June 3.

To sponsor the event, contact Dave at davellehman@yahoo.com.

To follow along with some informational pieces they will post until the event, check out their Facebook page here.
