Wednesday’s Weather Update 8/24

News

The latest Forecast from the KX News Dakota Storm Center.

A few areas across North Dakota are seeing some sparse rain showers, but overall mostly cloudy skies and a clearing at times. A low pressure system, to the north, is now moving out of the area as it brought in cooler temperatures and higher winds gusts. Winds will calm down by the overnight hours and cool temperatures will remain in the area as a low pressure trough continues to linger. Rain chances increase by Friday afternoon and Friday night. After the next system leaves, the trough will lift and bring in slightly warmer temperatures, back in the 80’s, for the later half of the weekend. The start of the work week will see lots of sunshine and mild temperatures.

Wednesday night, skies partly cloudy and winds calm down out of the northwest at 5-15 mph. Overnight lows will be near 50 degrees.

Thursday, partly cloudy skies to continue with temperatures staying cool through the day, near 70 degrees. Winds light to moderate out of the northwest at 5-15 mph.

Thursday night, lows to be in the upper 40s with a southwest wind shifting south at 1-8 mph. Skies will be partly cloudy to few clouds through the night.

Friday, temperatures continue to be near 70 degrees with an increased chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon hours. Winds will be out of the south at 5-15 mph.

Friday night, showers and thunderstorms expected, otherwise partly cloudy skies with temperatures on either side of 50 degrees. Winds out of the south at 2-10 mph.
