We’ll Know Monday if Recreational Marijuana will be on the Ballot

On Monday we will find out whether or not recreational marijuana will appear as an initiated measure on the November ballot.

The Secretary of State’s office is given a 35 day window to validate signatures. That deadline expires August 13. Earlier this summer, “Legalize ND” turned in more than 18 thousand petition signatures to fully legalize marijuana. The group needed a little under 14,000.

If the Secretary of State validates the signatures, it will be left to the voters to decide in November whether or not to legalize recreational marijuana.
