In less than 3 weeks, most ND students will be back in the classroom.
That means it’s time for back to school orientations – and according to one principal, that’s not something you should skip.

Russ Riehl is the principal at Simle Middle School, and he says his goal is to have innovative education in every classroom.
He says these orientations help give transparency to parents about some new teaching methods and class set ups.
According to Riehl, their job as a school is to give kids skills to have a successful future.
“These sixth graders that we met today… Their jobs aren’t even invented yet. Their careers aren’t even – we don’t even know what they are. But there are certain skill sets. They’re going to have to work. They’re going to have to think. They’re going to have to inquire. All of those things are going to have to be done so they can be successful adults,” says Russ Riehl, Principal, Simle Middle School.
