More people in the Williston area are deciding now is the time to buy.
Josie Milne and her family purchased their first home eight years. But now, they’re ready for an upgrade.
“I was ready for a more traditional two-style ranch home. Extra living space and we have a pool in the back so it can’t get any better,” says Milne.
The home-buying experience was different for Milne this time around. With a greater selection of homes on the market, Milne and her family were able to find their dream home.
“When my husband and I were looking when we came here 8 years ago there were like 25 houses on the market,” says Milne.
Milen and her family are one of many homebuyers in the Williston area upgrading their home.
“The people who are really making the changes were possibly locked into a smaller home and now can get into a home of their desires and make that move for themselves,” says Mitzi Bestall, broker at RE/MAX Bakken Realty.
While home buyers now have a greater selection of inventory and are better positioned to find their dream homes, sellers in the Williston area are also experiencing some benefits from a more stable housing market.
“If it’s priced accordingly, because of our choice of inventory, you can have multiple offers on the table again,”says Bestall.
Such as Milne, who received three offers from 9 showings in just two days. And has now found a forever home.
“North Dakota has always been home to me. So I can’t foresee myself living anywhere else.’
A dream home in her home state has made Milne feel right at home.
