A man is sentenced to 8 years in prison after infecting two separate women with HIV.

Angel Rodriguez entered an alford plea of guilty this week in Williams County court.
An alford plea means he does not admit guilt, but does say there’s enough evidence to convict him.

In January of 2017, a women told Williston Police that she had unprotected sex with Rodriguez.
He did not inform the woman he was HIV positive, she found out after the relationship ended, that she was now HIV positive.

A second woman told Williston PD the same thing happened to her, she has also tested HIV positive.

Court documents show that Rodriguez did indeed know he was HIV positive, after he disclosed on jail documents that he was HIV positive.

In North Dakota it is a Class A felony to willfully transfer HIV to another person.
Rodriguez will spend 5 years on probation after his 8 year jail term.
