High winds appear to be the culprit in an accident shortly after noon today, just west of Mandan on I-94.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, gusty winds buffeted a westbound semi pulling a section of a double-wide mobile home near mile marker 152.

At one point, the wind caused the mobile home section to overturn and disconnect from the semi.

The home section then left the road and ended up in a ditch, which sparked a grass fire.

The Mandan Fire Department soon extinguished the blaze.

The driver of the semi, Darryl Kuhlmann of Long Prairie, Minnesota, was not injured in the accident.

The crash remains under investigation by the highway patrol.
