A man accused of 23 counts of ID theft failed to show up for his preliminary hearing in North Central District Court today.
Judge Doug Mattson issued a bench warrant for the arrest of 36-year-old Xavier Taylor.
His alleged accomplice, 34-year-old Ebony Nordelus was in court today and pleaded ‘not guilty’ to all 23 counts against her.
Investigators say the two had various personal identification and bank documents – things like checkbooks and driver’s licenses and debit cards – from two dozen people in North Dakota, Nebraska, and Montana, when they were stopped on a traffic violation in September in Minot.
A Highway Patrol sergeant testified today that the documents had been stolen from people’s vehicles.
Nordelus is scheduled for another court date on January Second.
