24-year-old Bruna De Paulo Cardosa is sentenced to three years and one month in prison for an involuntary manslaughter charge.
Those charges stem from a September 2016 incident in Parshall, N.D.
Cardoso drove a vehicle while intoxicated, lost control of the vehicle and hit an “End School Zone” sign, then struck a tree. At the time of the accident, Cardoso’s Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) was .130. Authorities also determined that the speed of the vehicle was 15 miles per hour over the speed limit.
After serving three years in prison, Cardoso faces three years of supervised released and will pay restitution.
