Burke County Sheriff Jeremy Grohs says the death of a Tolley, North Dakota woman was an accident.
51-year-old Melissa Osterberg’s body was found in the water at the Northgate Dam Recreation Area on September 26th.
Sheriff Grohs says an autopsy performed by the State Medical Examiner’s office showed Osterberg died from accidental drowning.
Investigators believe she accidentally drove off the boat ramp and into the body of water.
At some point Osterberg exited the vehicle.
Grohs says it appears it was an accident, and there was nothing to show this was intentional.
No one else was in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
