Women learn self defense techniques

Empowering women.. that is the goal of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu classes.

Over the course of two hours, the women learned techniques to avoid making themselves an easy target and how to defend themselves. They were able to practice the skills demonstrated and feel confident in their abilities. The free self defense seminar was a preview of the full class offered by the Minot ATA Martial Arts school.

“I feel like they have a sense that they know that they’re worth defending and, at least, an idea of how to do it now. I hope that they continue their self defense knowledge.” said Jesse Ward, Head Instructor of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu.

“I feel like it gave me a sense of power. It taught me to -to be able to defend myself if someone were to attack me.” said Susan Greenheck, woman whom attended seminar.
