On a cold winter morning people prefer the drive – thru over getting out of their car to get something warm, but sometimes the person on the other side of window is the one feeling the chill the most.
The temperature was a good five- degrees below zero this morning in Dickinson, and people were flooding the drive -thru at places like City Brew to get a warm cup of coffee.
Workers said they see a big increase in warm beverages when the temperature dips, and they prefer to handle warm drinks instead of cold ones when working the drive – thru.
“We enjoy those moments of having a nice warm drink to warm up your hands again . . . just keep busy and you will warm right up,” said Emily Maher, Assistant Manager of City Brew in Dickinson.
The workers said they bundle up as best they can when working the drive-thru, but they occasionally do get customers who want an ice blended drink on days like today.
