It’s world down syndrome day!
People across the globe are doing random acts of kindness to raise awareness and honor those with the disorder.

We spoke with a U-Mary student who has been embracing the day, doing as many kind acts as possible.
Another way to celebrate the day — is by wearing crazy socks. Which of, she did too!
This week, Erin Pasley lit 21 prayer candles in the marian grotto, gave laundry pods to the girls in her dorm, and brought water to those at Red Door Pediatric Therapy.

Erin Pasley; UMary Student: It makes a difference because there’s not a lot of awareness right now, these kids, they’re adults too, they do so many big acts of kindness. So we’re just trying the match them in the little ways that we can.”

The reason march 21st is world down syndrome day is because those with down syndrome have a 3rd copy of their 21st chromosome.
