Wreaths Across America Preparing for Dec. 15th Ceremony

Each year, the Wreaths Across America organization honors our veterans by laying a wreath on their graves.

In November, a small group of volunteers began collecting wreath sponsorships for each grave at the North Dakota Veterans’ Cemetery. There are about 6 thousand 600 graves to cover– requiring over 97 thousand dollars in wreath scholarships. This year, they’ve had enough donations to cover ALL our veterans graves. Extra funds go towards Arlington Cemetery, as well as preparing for next year.

Kevin Iverson; Area Coordinator: “More than anything, this really means a tremendous amount to the family members who have veterans that are buried there. Its our opportunity during the holiday season to decorate there. It’s really an emotional event.”

This is the fifth year that the organizers have had enough wreath sponsorships for complete coverage of the North Dakota Veteran’s Cemetery.
